He was, upon his own will, buried in the Martyrs’ Section of the graveyard among his basiji fellowship. Following is the account of one of his last meetings with a commander.
Martyr Kharrazi in the Words of Martyr Avini
As you cross the channel connecting the enemy’s trenches to each other, you will get to "the Commander,” the flag-bearer. You could recognize him by his empty right sleeve. What am I saying? His delicate face and pleasant laughter are better signs. Beware, for he is so humble you would lose him among his companions. Had they not known him, no one would have believed they were facing the commander of the Imam Hussein (PBUH) Division. We, the people of the world, have seen division commanders only in movies. But, the commanders of the army of Islam have broken all those norms and stereotypes.
An affable young man, kind and genial, with a fairly thin, yet tough, physique, Look at Haj Hussein; know him by his empty right sleeve. Humbleness personified. Those who have spoken of him, have emphasized on two qualities more than others: Courage and sagacity.
The presence of Haj Hussein near the frontline was quite amazing. But, we knew he was not one to let his emotions get the better of him or he didn’t take a leap in the dark. The whole world is being watched by God Almighty and Haj Hussein was not for a moment forgetful of the Divine presence. Devising the right plan requires access to the right intelligence. It was only when we were informed that the enemy had counter attacked us in full force, that we realized the secret of his presence at the frontline.
